Ingredients

1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons Sichuan peppercorns (or 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns)
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes in a spice mill or mortar and pestle (leave some larger pieces of spice)

Preparation

  1. Coarsely grind 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoons Sichuan peppercorns (or 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns), 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes in a spice mill or mortar and pestle (leave some larger pieces of spice).
