Ingredients: Brownie batter , left in bowl; 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour; 3/4 teaspoon baking soda; 3/4 teaspoon salt; 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly; 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar; 1/2 cup granulated sugar; 2 large eggs; 3/4 teaspoon vanilla; 1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips (8 ounces)

These bar cookies feature two layers of decadence — chocolate chip cookie and brownie. Additional butter and egg in this cookie dough give the bars a chewier texture.
