The classic drink from old Cuba is said to have been concocted by expatriate American miners with time on their hands. These tart, lime-loaded daiquiris were created by recipe developer Jeanne Thiel Kelley's father, when he had time on his hands.

Ingredients

1 cup (generous) ice cubes
1/3 cup frozen limeade concentrate
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup amber Barbados rum
Additional ice cubes
2 lime wedges

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Combine 1 cup ice, limeade concentrate, lime juice, and rum in blender. Blend until ice is crushed and mixture is blended.

    Step 2

    Place additional ice cubes in 2 glasses. Pour daiquiri mixture ice. Garnish with lime wedges and serve.
