Ingredients

1 (1-pound) bag frozen baby lima beans, thawed (3 cups)
2 1/2 cups water
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 large garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup frozen baby peas
2 cups coarsely chopped trimmed mustard greens
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    PurƩe 1 cup lima beans with water in a blender until smooth, about 1 minute.

    Step 2

    Cook onion and garlic in butter in a 3-quart heavy saucepan over moderately low heat, stirring, until softened, about 6 minutes. Add purƩe, remaining lima beans, salt, and pepper and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes. Stir in peas and mustard greens and simmer, covered, 3 minutes.

    Step 3

    Stir in chives and season with salt and pepper.
